The Judge examines the Komondor, the final dog in her best in show line up. She can not remember having such a difficult decision. Each of these seven dogs are beautiful. . |

She sends the dogs around for one more look. They all move with fluid grace and power. The Komondor takes the ring with an arabesque swirl of cords swaying to and fro. Next, the Chesapeake Bay Retriever moving with perfect balance and deep driving strides. The Whippet follows with elegant reaching steps appearing to float around the ring. . |

She stands back to view each of the dogs trying to get her final impression of them. The Miniature Poodle has been impeccably groomed and stands like a perfect alabaster figurine of the breed. Then the lovable Cairn Terrier, with that bright expression and the terrier fire in it's eyes. . |

Her eyes fall to the last two dogs. The Cardigan Welsh Corgi's long low body is firmly muscled and his ears seem to listen intently for a flock to tend. Finally, the little Yorkshire Terrier. When she had taken a close look at him on the table, she instantly noticed how bright yet solicitice his eyes had been. His silky coat trailed behind him, the silver-blue saddle like a cascading brook through an autumn forest. For all his diminutive size he had been the biggest presence in the ring that night. The final moments are spent in hushed anticipation as the Judge makes her way to the judging table. On-lookers watch and wait as the excitement mounts.

Judge addresses the handlers in the ring congratulating them on the exceptional
dogs that she has had the privilege to judge this night. Then she
slowly points to the ....Yorkshire Terrier. "Best in Show"
she calls. . |
